I am, however, very intrigued about the subject and have written about it quite a bit in the last two years: http://chrisaldrich.wordpre...
Amongst some of my posts on it include some interesting resources. I generally refer people to Dr. Christian's Learning Company lecture series as the best incarnation of the concept I've seen so far followed by his large original text on the subject. Some of his more recent work including the big history website and the History Channel series are very interesting/entertaining, but not as deep as some of the other works. If nothing else, as a lifelong student, I wish I had encountered the concept in high school.

Re: What I’m Learning About: Kahoot

Kahoot! is currently used by teachers from early K-12 to university and also in business training across the world. I have myself used it my introductory class in programming as well as in my software architecture course with great success. The main benefit as I see it is student engagement and as a retention tool, as well as it is always good to know how much the students actually remember of my teaching. A more interesting way of using Kahoot! is to make the students create their own quizzes and later let other students play their quizzes. I have not had the chance to try this approach yet.

I was the inventor of the Kahoot! concept and in addition to being a teaching professor, I am also one of the co-founders of Kahoot!

Re: The Personalized Learning Environment Diagram and the Blended Learning Needs Assessment Template

Wonderful! And according to Brian Tracy, the famous productivity guru, every minute spent in planning is supposed to save at least 10 minutes in execution. So I believe talking about the work is good, as long as you do the work according to the plan and complete it on time.

Re: Anything that can be archived, should be.

It is really nice to learn continuously. I am very much with you on the @mentions. (but that's a protocol that hasn't been discussed, though some of us are using it). I'm all about making the learning process ("how to make a backchannel better") as transparent as possible during the process. I don't believe that lurkers have to stay lurkers, but that they serve an important role as audience members. They are the ones that end up making crowd-funding and crowd-sourcing work. When they see a cause they want to get behind, then they go for it and they help create things that are amazing. Mostly, though, they provide us with the sense that we are being heard, and that change is possible in a broader sense. How else do you see lurkers as dynamic?

Re: #ETMOOC Is Overwhelming. I haven't noticed that the three strategies you mentioned could be thought of as representing eye contact.
Then as regards the 'lurkers', I think this category is a transitional or dynamic one. What I mean is, if the lurkers keep interacting and manage to get confident enough as they develop their PLNs, they eventually 'evolve'.
